2022 CPHC Conference & AGM

The 2022 CPHC Conference will be held on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st April 2022 in the East Building at the University of Bath, Claverton Down, Bath, BA2 7AY

The Conference programme and links to speaker biographies is now available.

The event is due to start with parallel pre-conference workshops on the morning of Wednesday 20th April (10:00-11:30):

  • New Heads workshop
  • Mentoring workshop

The main Conference start time is 12:30 and will close at approximately 15:00 on Thursday 21st April followed by a choice of parallel post-conference workshops for non-CPHC members at CPHC member institutions to attend. See programme for further information (15:30-17:00):

  • New lecturers’ workshop
  • Potential Leaders and Heads workshop

The main Conference programme includes:

Keynote address by WonkHE, update on CPHC activities, panel discussions on UKRI/EPSRC, UKCRC, NCSC, Barclays and JD Group, an update on BCS Education strategy and a workshop to explore issues, challenges and best practice in relationships between CS Departments and University IT Departments.

As with previous Conferences there will also be a Conference Dinner on the evening of Wednesday 20th April to be held at the Roman Baths. You will be able to indicate on the booking system whether you wish to bring a guest. Please complete all of the necessary sections so that we can arrange adequate catering requirements.

Note: There are limited places for the workshops, so please book early.

*We are offering the opportunity for new lecturers and potential leaders/heads to attend the second day of the conference for a discounted rate. This will include participation in the post conference workshops. This offers an opportunity for new and developing academics to develop extended networks, that will support their career growth and connect with the activities of the CPHC. Participants will need to be nominated by their Head of Department to Maxine Leslie cphc@bcs.uk to receive the special rate.

The 2022 CPHC Annual General Meeting will be held at the end of the first day of the Conference, at which the election of CPHC Committee Members will be held.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the Conference?

Will I be able to join the Conference online?

The plan is to provide a live stream of the main conference proceedings including the Annual General Meeting on Day 1.

What’s the refund policy?

A full refund will be issued if a cancellation is received within 14 days of the booking date, otherwise, named substitutions will be allowed after this date.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It’s not necessary to bring a printed ticket with you to the Conference.  Please sign in on arrival at the CPHC registration desk.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

We are happy to take named substitutions if you are unable to make it, please update your booking with the new details or email cphc@bcs.uk to request the update manually.

Are there any covid-related restrictions?

The advice is to follow government guidelines applicable at the time of the Conference.
