Maria Klawe Biography

Maria Klawe is an academic leader with a long record of increasing participation by women in STEM fields. Her research interests include discrete mathematics, theoretical computer science, educational technology and gender differences in children’s usage and interest in computer games. Prior positions include dean of engineering at Princeton University; dean of science at UBC; and senior manager at IBM Research. Klawe is a fellow of ACM, CIPS, AAA&S, AMS and AWM, and a board member AAAS, Math for America, MSRI, and (chair).
