UK Computing Summit 2024

Jointly hosted by BCS, CPHC and UKCRC, the UK Computing Summit 2024’s theme is Shaping Computing’s Visions Challenges & Opportunities.

The 2024 Summit will be held on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th April at Coventry University, Engineering and Computing Building, Gulson Road, Coventry, CV1 2JH

The main Summit agenda includes:

Keynote addresses from Wonkhe, Stemettes and BCS Education & Public Benefit, main speaker slots from EPSRC/UKRI, ARIA, Aspires Research and the BCS President, parallel sessions on computing pedagogy, CPHC Special Project Grants, recruitment and retention of staff, Chair in 10 Years, mentoring, EDI and journals/publishing, fireside chats on tech policy and neurodiversity and much much more. There will also be plenty of opportunities to network including at the evening dinner.

The Summit Dinner will be held on the evening of Tuesday 16th April at St Mary’s Guildhall which is approximately 10-15 minutes walk from the Summit venue. You will be able to indicate on the booking system whether you wish to bring a guest. Please complete all of the necessary sections including special dietary requirements so that we can arrange adequate catering requirements.

Who should attend?
The UK Computing Summit is open to all members of CPHC, UKCRC and BCS, particularly those working in or with the higher education sector. We would also welcome anyone from industry who have an interest in tech policy, application and impact of computing.

The Summit programme covers a range of topics, including computing pedagogy, CPHC Special Project Grants, recruitment and retention of staff, Chair in 10 Years, mentoring, EDI and journals/publishing, fireside chats on tech policy and neurodiversity and more.

Note: We will be in touch with registered attendees nearer to the date of the Summit to take bookings for the Parallel Session choices.

The 2024 CPHC Annual General Meeting will be held at the end of the first day of the Summit, at which the election of CPHC Committee Members will be held. 

FAQs

What are my transport options for getting to and from the Summit?

What are the accommodation options?

What’s the refund policy?

A full refund will be issued if a cancellation is received within 14 days of the booking date, otherwise, named substitutions will be allowed after this date.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It’s not necessary to bring a printed ticket with you to the Summit.  Please sign in on arrival at the registration desk.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

We are happy to take named substitutions if you are unable to make it, please update your booking with the new details or email cphc@bcs.uk to request the update manually.
