2018 CPHC Conference

The 2018 CPHC Conference is due to be held on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th April 2018 at Newcastle University School of Computing, Urban Sciences Building, 1 Science

The event is due to start with parallel Workshops on the morning of Monday 23rd April:

10:00-12:00 New Heads Workshop – Dr Iain Phillips, Loughborough University

10:15-12:15 Athena SWAN – Professor Carron Shankland, University of Stirling 

The main Conference start time is 12:30 on the Monday and will close at approximately 12:30 on Tuesday 24th April, followed by a networking lunch for delegates.  We are also opening up the second day Tuesday 24th April 2018 as a stand-alone day, which will concentrate on a wide range of issues of interest to Computer Science departments.

There will be two further parallel Workshops on the afternoon of Tuesday 24th April:

13:30-15:00 ORBIT Workshop: promoting Responsible Research and Innovation – Professor Bernd Stahl, De Montfort University

13:30-15:00 Degree Apprenticeship Workshop – Professor Alastair Irons, University of Sunderland

 The main Conference programme may be found here and will include updates on REF, TEF (subject pilot), the Institute of Coding, the National Computing Centre and recent initiatives (including work with UKCRC, BCS, IET and EPSRC) on equality, diversity and inclusion.

As with previous Conferences there will also be a Conference Dinner on the evening of Monday 23rd April at the Living Planet Gallery at The Hancock.  You will be able to indicate on the booking system whether you wish to bring a guest.

Day 1 only (no Dinner) £40
Dinner guest £45
Day 2 only £40
